Looking NW to J7 exit. The lane markings at the nearside are the end of the entry ramp from J6! Looking back from J7 towards J6. The nearest silver car has already passed the nose of the J7 exit. (Compare lane markings with previous picture.) J7 overpass and roundabout from SE. South side of roundabout is closed for bridge work. Safety mirror on pedestrian underpass at J7. (Self portrait!) Sign on northbound approach to J8. This is the back of the southbound J7 exit gantry. J7 southbound. The left through lane is only signed for destinations at J6 - by implication, the Ring Road is just a single lane each way with auxilliary lanes between and through junctions. Medieval Spon Street. Surviving old buildings from the city centre were salvaged and rebuilt here, just inside the Inner Ring Road. Spon Street continues outside the Inner Ring Road, with a pedestrian underpass between J7 and J8. Looking E from J8 to J9, showing short weaving length and W to J8. The junction is a 2-lane gyratory with both inside and outside exits - this view shows the ramp from northbound RR at right (both lanes exit towards city centre), two lanes of gyratory from under bridge in the distance (turning sharply E in foreground), and exit to car park. The 2-lane southbound exit has a short weaving length with the inside of the gyratory (under the bridge), then climbs back up as the northbound entry! J2 from west, looking at the north side of the gyratory.
